Who we are

FactApp is a social quiz and games platform operated by EAG Web Solutions (South Africa). This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and the choices you have. We aim to comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and, where applicable, the GDPR.

What we collect

  • Account details, email address, display name and an age group, if you create an account. You can play as a guest without an account; guest identity lives only in your browser.
  • Gameplay data, scores, match history, answers, streaks and leaderboard entries.
  • Social data, your friends list, quiz invites and responses, and messages you send in chats. Direct messages are stored so your history is available; in-room chat is not stored after the room ends.
  • Technical basics, standard server logs (IP address, browser type) used for security and debugging.

What we never do

We do not sell your personal information. We do not show third-party advertising. We do not use your content to train AI models.

Cookies

We use only functional cookies, primarily a session cookie that keeps you signed in. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Third-party services

  • Hosting & database, your data is stored in our database infrastructure (Supabase/PostgreSQL).
  • Video calls, optional in-room video is provided via Daily.co; joining a call is always your choice and subject to your browser's camera/microphone permissions. We don't record calls.

Children

FactApp offers family-safe content settings and age groups. Accounts for children should be created and supervised by a parent or guardian. We don't knowingly collect more information from children than the service needs.

Retention & your rights

We keep your data while your account is active. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time, email info@factapp.party. Deleting your account removes your profile, friends, invites and messages; anonymised gameplay statistics may be retained.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we'll update the date above and note it in the app.
